Meridian Idaho Location

Meridian is a city located in Ada County, Idaho, United States. According to the 2010 census, Meridian has a population of 75,092, making it the third-largest city in Idaho. It is part of the Boise metropolitan area and its located about 10 miles (16 km) west of downtown Boise. The city is the largest suburb of Boise and the second-largest city in the state.

Meridian is located at the intersection of Interstate 84 and State Highway 44, just south of the Boise River. It is situated in the Treasure Valley and is close to the Boise Mountains. The city is bordered by the cities of Boise, Eagle, Kuna, and Star. The elevation of Meridian is 2,535 feet (773 m) above sea level.

The area that is now Meridian was originally inhabited by the Shoshone and Bannock tribes. The first settlers of the area were the Boise tribe, who arrived in the early 1800s. The first permanent settlement in the area was established in 1864 by Christian missionaries from the Oregon Trail. The settlement was named Meridian because it was located in the middle of the Boise Valley.

The city of Meridian was officially incorporated in 1902. The city has grown steadily over the years and is now the third-largest city in Idaho. It is home to a number of businesses, including the Boise State University campus for the College of Business and Economics, as well as a number of shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
